“ Each year during the first term all our Year classes attend a camp at Ngatuhoa Lodge in the Kaimai Forest Park. Risk Management is a major focus during this time and Gavin & Douron were employed by the school to assist with the organisation and smooth running of these camps.
Gavin & Douron’s knowledge & skill in outdoor education, understanding of risk management procedures and the ability to manage young adolescents were invaluable. It was through their assistance for example, that particularly difficult students were able to complete this week long camp. I have no hesitation in recommending Gavin & Douron for any position requiring leadership and instruction in an outdoor setting”
Henk Popping B.Ed, Adv Dip Teaching Principal
Otumoetai Intermediate School, Tauranga, New Zealand.

“Douron displayed a very high standard of interaction with all students. His help was invaluable with the less adventurous and in defusing situations before they escalated. He did this in a manner which allowed students to learn from their mistakes without losing face”
School Councillor – Otumoetai Intermediate

“Doe & Gav were very professional throughout in their approach and delivery. They make a great team! They were thoroughly organised: pre-camp meetings, gear lists, travel arrangements, food requirements, activities etc. Their communication with school, staff and students was excellent – always on time and very clear on what they needed to achieve.
Doe and Gav’s friendly but authoritative manner rapidly gained the respect of all the students. They displayed an enthusiasm for what they were doing which in turn motivated the students. Doe and Gav showed an inherent ability to ‘read’ the needs of the students and thus a balance between organised activities and ‘free time’ resulted in a camp immensely enjoyed by all. At all times they maintained a responsibility for the group – certainly the ‘easiest’ camp I’ve been on from a teacher’s perspective!! Feed back from the students and parents has been very positive.”
Kay Sutherland
Resource Teacher of Learning & Behaviour
Mount Maunganui College, New Zealand.

“Many thanks for developing, organising and running our outdoor activities programme and camp games in such an age appropriate way.
Graham Crawshaw
Camp Director
Arapohue Bush Camp – Dargaville, New Zealand.
