NEWSLETTER – MARCH 2006

Hello to all our friends from the team at Adventurous Minds!!

This is our first newsletter as such and we hope to have this come out every couple of months to keep you all updated with what is happening.

Once again daylight savings is coming to an end…but it’s not all that bad as it gives an excuse for cosy nights at home. On the bright side of winter coming, I was at Whakapapa this past weekend doing a spot of abseiling and climbing and it decided to snow as low as the Chateau, so it looks like it could be a good ski season for those that are into getting out there.

Holiday camps run over Christmas were once again much fun, with new campers coming from as far away as Korea! Perhaps the most memorable were two young boys who we gave a free camp as part of a radio promotion for families who deserve a helping hand. It was great to see how much the two boys gained confidence as the week progressed and it was an experience they won’t soon forget!

Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control the cost of our camps will be increasing. We apoligise in advance for this but in comparison to other private holiday camps we are still by far the most economical and do not believe in compromising safety or eliminating activities due to these rises.

With school having been back for a while now you will all be well into the swing of things again. For us it has been a busy start to the year as usual, with Otumoetai College camps, Southwell School coming over for abseiling and Mount Intermediate being up at Ngatuhoa Lodge keeping Gav busy. Gotta love summer!!!!

Anyway....we look forward to seeing you at one of our up and coming camps, hikes or fishing trips.

Keep well,
Douron Miedema (Doe), Gavin Bensemann (Gav) & Stacey Hilditch (Stace)
